Enrolment and Transition

Curramulka Primary School welcomes new students from Reception to Year 6. We aim to make starting school a positive and comfortable experience for every child and family.

Transition is organised with your child's preschool. A parent information session and school tour are held on the first transition day. Families are also welcome to contact the school to arrange an earlier tour or discuss any support their child may need.

Starting school

• Children who turn five before 1 May start Reception in Term 1.
• Children who turn five between 1 May and 31 October may start through the mid-year intake in Term 3 and complete six terms of Reception.
• Reception transition usually includes four visits, beginning with a morning visit and increasing to full days.
• Families receive a letter confirming transition dates and arrangements.
• Future Reception students and their families are invited to our annual Cook-Out.
